Corinne Santos
Entry Level Campus Recruiting Consulting Senior Manager
PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers)

Education/Alma Mater: Bentley University

Morning News Sources: Good Morning America, CNN, WFSB, WSJ, Human Times, The Hustle, Fortune Daily

Hometown/Current town: I grew up in Keene, NH and currently live in Rocky Hill, CT

How long have you worked in your current position? Current role, 8 months, but almost 13 years in recruiting at PwC and 17 years in total at PwC (some time spent in our Audit practice). I have had the opportunity to have 2 careers at one firm and worked in 2 different offices, Boston to start and now Hartford.

Did you have a job that might surprise people? I was a substitute teacher during my time at Bentley University. I taught kindergarten through seniors in high school which was a very interesting experience!

What do you value most about CWC? I am a new member as of late 2021 but have already found a sense of community, opportunity to network with female leaders and the chance to participate in activities outside of my normal day-to-day life.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten? To be the best coach/leader you must be the best listener.

Piece of advice for people entering your field / looking to excel in your field? Start every conversation with care. In my field, entry level talent have a number of opportunities to choose from, so making each candidate feel they are the center of your attention is critical.

Proud moment or accomplishment you’d like to share? For me, its my recent promotion to Senior Manager. Within our Talent Acquisition function it can be challenging to find the right position and promotion opportunities. I interviewed for a role in January of 2021 and did not get it. Candidly I had a small pity party but fast forward 5 months later, I was aligned to a Senior Manager role that better suited my career goals and leadership aspirations. I am proud of the impact I had during those interviews and the impression I made on leadership to provide me with (in my opinion) an even better role!

First Job in high school: Sales Associate at a small knick knack shop in my hometown. Just picture shelves upon shelves of trinkets, all of which needed to be dusted every time I worked.

Dream Job (besides current): Book editor or professional organizer

Bucket List Item: I have to make this list plural – all related to travel. Ski in Colorado/Utah/California, go hiking in Banff National Park (Canada), travel to Greece to island hop.

Hobbies (and any new ones started during pandemic): Reading (all genres welcome), yoga, barre class, organizing, watching our kids play sports, hiking and skiing.

Favorite Restaurant (and items you recommend): ION Restaurant in Middletown – Kale Salad! OR Treva in West Hartford – Tagliatelle with wild mushroom ragout, truffle and thyme

Vacation Spot: I have two answers for vacation spots. First is Newfound Lake, NH. It is said to be one of the cleanest lakes in the world and the deepest in NH. My dad has gone to Newfound every year of his life (this will be year 74), its beautiful, calm and pristine. Second is anywhere new, I love adventure and seeing all that our country and world have to offer.

Favorite Movie: First movie that comes to mind is “The Holiday” – it brings me joy during the holiday season.
